Committee Meeting/First Troop Meeting

Posted by Lance Dollinger on Jul 29 2014 - 8:21pm

We hope you all have been having a terrific Summer. It's that time again where children are preparing to head back to school, and almost time for the new Scouting year. As a friendly reminder, on August 4 at 6:00pm at Pinewood Presbyterian Church, we will be holding our first committee meeting of the year to discuss what the troop will be doing this school year as well as the troop's needs. The PLC will also be taking place at this time, so any boys in a leadership position should definitely attend. On August 18, at 7:00pm, we will be holding our first troop meeting of the school year. To welcome everyone back from their long vacation, the troop will have a hotdog/hamburger cookout at the church's pavillion using their new grill. There is so much to look forward to for the 2014-2015 school year, and we look forward to seeing you.

New Health Forms

Posted by Lance Dollinger on May 12 2014 - 6:19pm

For those who need to fill out a new health form, they will be available to fill out. The health forms have just been reformated and these new ones will be provided here. Remember, for those who are just going on a weekend Boy Scout activity, you only need to fill out parts A and B. If you're going to summer camp, you also need to fill out part C, not just parts A and B.

MERIT BADGE COUNSELORS WANTED

Posted by Terri Dollinger on Mar 12 2014 - 12:44am

Our troop is in need of merit badge counselors. The merit badge counselor is a key player in the Boy Scout advancement program. If you are an adult leader, or a parent of a scout in our troop, we could use your help. Whatever your area of expertise or interest—whether it is a special craft or hobby (basketry, leatherwork, coin collecting), a profession (veterinary medicine, aviation, engineering), or perhaps a life skill (cooking, personal management, communications)—as a merit badge counselor, you can play a vital role in stirring a young man's curiosity about that particular topic. All of you are an expert in at least one thing, and I'm sure many of you have hobbies you excel in. Please look at signing up as a merit badge counselor. There is no fee for this. By serving as a merit badge counselor, you offer your time, knowledge, and other resources so that Scouts can explore a topic of interest.
